چکیده
In this study, a type of micro-nano Si3N4 matrix ceramic cutting tool material was successfully prepared by controlling the addition amount TiC0.7N0.3 and hot-pressing sintering temperature. The effects different volume fractions on microstructure, mechanical properties, particle size distribution, relative density tools at same temperature were investigated. results show that makes β-Si3N4 grains with diameters aspect ratios interlaced tightly bonded, thus achieving strengthening toughening effects. addition, hot-press temperatures properties materials studied. It concluded increased increase density, flexural strength, fracture toughness samples 1 vol% added 1750 °C 30 MPa pressure reached 99.22%, 993 MPa, 9.81 MPa·m1/2, respectively.

Comparison of Creep Behavior in Alumina Based Ceramics Densified by Spark Plasma Sintering and Hot Pressing
Spark plasma sintering (SPS) method, as plasma activated sintering, is a method applicable for rapid sintering of metals and ceramics. Owing to the advantage of rapid heating, the alumina ceramics obtained by SPS have a grain size and density comparable to those of hot pressed ones. The increase of densification rate may be related to some difference in ion transport characteristics. This study...

A rapid hot press system in which the heat is supplied by RF induction to rapidly consolidate thermoelectric materials is described. Use of RF induction heating enables rapid heating and consolidation of powdered materials over a wide temperature range. Such rapid consolidation in nanomaterials is typically performed by spark plasma sintering (SPS) which can be much more expensive. Details of t...

متن کاملHIGH TEMPERATURE ELASTIC STRAIN EVOLUTION IN Si3N4-BASED CERAMICS
Tension experiments in vacuum were performed on a monolithic Si3N4 sample at 1375°C and a 20Vol% SiCp-Si3N4 composite sample at 1400°C using the new SMARTS diffractometer at the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center. The deep penetration of neutrons facilitated these in-situ studies. In particular, the hkl-dependent strains were measured and the results interpreted by Eshelby-based modeling for the...
